Zhongguancun National Engineering Technology Innovation Base (Innovation Base for short hereinafter) is a key project co-planed by Ministry of Science & Technology and Beijing Municipal Government. It covers pillar industries like new energy, new materials and advanced technological equipment, making it a cluster of state-level engineering technology R&D centers and state-level corporate R&D centers, planned to take up a total area of 4 square kilometers.
   
Orientation of the base:
● An engineering technology innovation base holding national pillar industries of materials, energy and advanced manufacturing;
● An R&D base for key materials, core parts and significant equipment;
● A technology service base about inspection and experiment, intelligence and information, technology trading, enterprise incubation and talent training;
● An exemplary base for the further reform and industrialized development of application-oriented institutes;
● A technology integration and innovation base that assumes several key industrial pioneering projects in the national medium- and long-term sci-tech planning.
